What every claim on a Lumi-noble label actually means.
We don't use marketing words without definitions. Every claim — microbiome-friendly, hypoallergenic, vegan, dermatologically tested — has a precise meaning, a measurement and a documented standard behind it.

THE TEN CLAIMS
Every claim. Every definition. Linked.
Ten claims that may appear on a Lumi-noble label. Tap any card to read the precise definition, what it means, and what it does not mean.
For every claim we make on a Lumi-noble label, here's what it means, how we measure it, the standard behind it — and what it does not mean.
01
Microbiome-Friendly
CLAIM
Meaning
Formulated to cleanse without disrupting the natural skin microbiome of dogs and cats. Contains prebiotic complexes that nourish beneficial bacteria, mild surfactants that don't strip the lipid barrier and pH-balanced chemistry.
How we measure
Reviewed against peer-reviewed pet skin microbiome literature; surfactant system and pH validated for compatibility with skin flora.
Standard reference
Veterinary dermatology consensus on microbiome-friendly formulation; pH band 6.5–7.0.
What it does not mean
It does not mean the formula contains live probiotics. Live bacteria are unstable in shelf products — Lumi-noble uses prebiotics that feed existing skin flora.
02
Hypoallergenic
CLAIM
Meaning
Designed to minimize the risk of allergic reaction. Formulated without common skin sensitizers (parabens, formaldehyde donors, aggressive fragrance allergens, sulfates) and screened for low-irritation profile on pet skin.
How we measure
Finished-formula irritation profile reviewed by veterinary dermatology; sensitizer-rich ingredients excluded by formulation rule.
Standard reference
EU Cosmetic Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 sensitizer guidance; veterinary dermatology consensus.
What it does not mean
Hypoallergenic is not a guarantee of zero allergic response. Every animal is individual, and atypical reactions can still occur — particularly in pets with diagnosed sensitivities.
03
Puppy-Friendly
CLAIM
Meaning
Suitable for puppies from first bath onward, in addition to adult dogs. Mildness is verified for the thinner, more reactive skin of young animals; pH and surfactant chemistry are calibrated for life-stage tolerance.
How we measure
Surfactant chemistry and pH reviewed for life-stage compatibility; finished formula screened for puppy-skin tolerance.
Standard reference
Veterinary dermatology guidance on puppy skin physiology and pH compatibility.
What it does not mean
It does not replace the need for puppy-specific medical care. For diagnosed skin conditions, follow your veterinarian's instructions.
04
Sensitive Skin
CLAIM
Meaning
High tolerance for delicate, reactive or barrier-compromised skin types. Excludes known irritants and includes barrier-supporting humectants like oat beta-glucan and colloidal oatmeal.
How we measure
Formulated with low-irritation actives only; barrier-supporting ingredients selected for their dermatology track record.
Standard reference
Veterinary dermatology consensus on sensitive-skin formulation principles.
What it does not mean
It does not treat or cure underlying skin conditions. Sensitive Skin is a tolerance profile claim, not a therapeutic claim.
05
Groomer-Friendly
CLAIM
Meaning
Designed for frequent professional use in salon settings. Formulated for repeat-use tolerance on a wide range of breeds and skin types, with consistent rinse-out behavior and predictable working times.
How we measure
Surfactant rinse-off behavior, lather density and working time validated against professional grooming workflows.
Standard reference
Professional groomer feedback panels; salon-volume usage testing.
What it does not mean
Groomer-Friendly is not a substitute for breed- or condition-specific medical formulas. For diagnosed skin issues, refer to veterinary recommendations.
06
16:1 Dilution
CLAIM
Meaning
Concentrated gallon-format product designed for 16:1 dilution with water at point of use. Economical for high-volume professional grooming while maintaining ingredient performance and skin tolerance.
How we measure
Active concentration calibrated so that 1 part product to 16 parts water delivers the same skin and coat performance as the ready-to-use format.
Standard reference
Internal dilution-validated efficacy testing across breeds and water hardness conditions.
What it does not mean
It does not mean the product can be used undiluted at gallon strength. Always dilute before use to avoid over-concentration and skin discomfort.
07
Dermatologically Tested
CLAIM
Meaning
Tolerability has been evaluated by dermatological assessment of the finished formula on the intended species. Skin tolerance, pH compatibility and ingredient safety are reviewed before production approval.
How we measure
Pre-production dermatological assessment by veterinary dermatologists; documented tolerance evaluation per formula.
It does not mean the product is hypoallergenic by default, nor that it has been tested on animals in a regulatory testing sense — Lumi-noble products are cruelty-free.
08
Vegan
CLAIM
Meaning
Contains no ingredients derived from animals or animal byproducts. Applied at the product level — the claim is made only on formulas verified vegan in their final composition.
How we measure
Each ingredient verified for animal-origin status against the supplier's documented sourcing; finished formula composition reviewed for vegan eligibility before label claim.
Standard reference
European Vegan Society and equivalent international vegan certification criteria.
What it does not mean
Vegan does not automatically equal cruelty-free, and vice versa. Lumi-noble verifies both, but each claim is applied independently per product.
09
Cruelty-Free
CLAIM
Meaning
No animal testing at any stage — from raw material sourcing to finished product. Verified across the supply chain, not only at the brand level.
How we measure
Supplier documentation reviewed for upstream animal-testing absence; finished products never tested on animals by Lumi-noble or commissioned third parties.
Standard reference
Leaping Bunny equivalent supply-chain standard.
What it does not mean
Cruelty-Free does not automatically mean vegan. A product can be cruelty-free yet contain animal-derived ingredients (e.g. honey or beeswax) — though Lumi-noble does not currently use either.
10
Natural Origin Index
CLAIM
Meaning
Transparent declaration of the proportion of ingredients sourced from natural origin in the finished formula. Calculated according to ISO 16128 methodology and disclosed on each product page.
How we measure
Each ingredient classified per ISO 16128 (natural, derived natural or synthetic); weighted by formulation percentage to produce the index.
Standard reference
ISO 16128: Cosmetics — Guidelines on technical definitions and criteria for natural and organic cosmetic ingredients and products.
What it does not mean
A high Natural Origin Index does not mean the product is fully organic, nor that any ingredient is necessarily safer than a comparable synthetic. The index is a sourcing transparency tool, not a safety claim.
OUR TRANSPARENCY PROMISE
Three commitments behind every claim.
Lumi-noble's claims aren't marketing language. They are commitments — defined, measurable and accountable to you.
01
Define before we claim
Every word on a Lumi-noble label has a precise written definition. If we can't define it, we don't print it.
02
Measure against a standard
Each claim is referenced to an industry standard — ISO, veterinary dermatology consensus or recognized certification — not internal opinion.
03
State what it does not mean
We document the boundaries of each claim publicly. Knowing what a label does not mean is as important as knowing what it does.
QUESTIONS ABOUT A SPECIFIC CLAIM?
Transparency goes both ways.
