The science
The skin microbiome functions as an ecosystem. Stripping it with conventional detergents removes protective bacteria. Prebiotics restore balance by providing targeted nutrition for beneficial strains like Lactobacillus — without killing any microorganism.
Derived primarily from oats, beta-glucan is a polysaccharide with a long track record in veterinary dermatology. It forms a breathable film over the skin that traps moisture and calms inflammatory responses.
The science
Beta-glucan activates macrophages and stimulates natural immune responses in skin. Its hygroscopic nature draws and holds water molecules at the surface — reducing transepidermal water loss (TEWL) and supporting healing of minor abrasions.
Collagen hydrolysis breaks large collagen molecules into smaller peptides capable of penetrating the cuticle layer of each hair strand. Unlike surface-only conditioners, hydrolyzed collagen works from inside the fiber outward.
The science
Hydrolyzed collagen peptides (MW 1,000–5,000 Da) adsorb to the keratin matrix of pet hair, filling micro-fractures in the cuticle, smoothing the surface and improving light reflection — resulting in visible shine. They also act as humectants, reducing static and improving detangling.
We source botanical extracts with dual function: antioxidant protection against environmental stressors, and enzymatic odor neutralization. Every extract has a documented functional role — none are added for fragrance alone.
The science
